ACCIDENT

It seems ages ago but it might have been on 11th February 2011. It was a normal and busy day as always. I got on my bike and set off to the site for some inspection. I was just about 60 mtrs when I collided with a dumper. I work in a Hydro Power construction on behalf of the client in some place called Dagana in Bhutan. It is a 126 MW project meant for the social benefit to the area. I couldn't understand the philosophy behind building a small project in this area at first. But during my stay here I understood the why? Dagana is a god forsaken land and the source of income here I found is Oranges and few quarry mining sites. Besides that there a few contractors and lot of government employees. There is only one higher secondary school in the District. The ethnic groups comprises mainly of Lotshampas(Nepali) and groups all over from Bhutan. As far as I know this happened because of alternative land location issued by the government during the early 70s when the first road construction started in Bhutan. In short the people whose land came in the road alignment were compensated by the government by providing them land in other parts of Bhutan. The people here are very simple and arrogant :). So in large picture I see lots of changes which will come after the completion of this project. Better schools and also the improvement of education standards in the old schools. Lots of business opportunities and best of all better transportation. Dagana is a land locked district there is one one entry point, once you get there you have to use the same road to get out from there. There has been a resent talk on paving of motor road from Dagana to Chukha which means shorter duration of travelling. A small project affecting the live of a district. I wouldn't be surprised if I see a airport in the near future.
Coming back to my accident.......lets say that the driver of the dumper was talking to a xyz person and his head was turned to the left. I was travelling at around 20 kmph and shot my break and honked zillion times. The sound of the crushing plant just below the road and the drivers zero concentration nullified my bikes horn. The road I would say is around 5 mtrs width on that stretch. And as far as I saw from the picture I was at the far left near the drainage. So anyway in a fraction of second I felt a thud and next thing I know I was under the tyre. In those seconds I saw that the driver was still talking to that xyz person. My mind went blank and completely vacuum. I felt only fear and nothing else. The dumpers tyre was hauling its might to climb over the tyre of my bike. I was dragged under the tyre for 3 mtrs and might have lasted about 20 secs. As I scratch my memory I can remember there was only one thing I said to myself "THIS IS IT THIS IS THE END ". Subconsciously my body was adjusting to the force of the bumper twisting my leg to break it. I was adjusting myself and twisting my body in the same direction to avoid that. Those seconds was the longest so far I felt. When you feel death so close you don't give a damn to any bullshits. Mind becomes blank and your body fight for its survival like its programmed. I thought I could never drive a bike but yesterday night I had some emergencies at the site and I had to drive my friends bike(mines in the workshop). I did not feel anything other than the fact that this bike was different and I was adjusting to maneuver it.All reason and philosophy stop when you know that you are going to die in the cruelest way. I have heard about accidents where the victims intestine flows over the pavement and the brain oozing from the skull. I don't wanna die like this. Whose ever fault it might be the loser is the dead. No God and no reasons just the end.

    4. Don't mess up stories like this. You could have mentioned the story of Dangan as introduction and then started your story.
